Home in the ChurchIn the summer of 1987, I came from Taiwan to the United States for further studies. The second day I came to Dallas I met some believers in the local church. After spending some time with them I experienced participating in God's family, and it is this that attracted me to begin attending the meetings. In the spring of 1988, I was admitted to East Texas State University. There was a brother in the Lord who faithfully drove three hours both ways every Friday to come to the campus and minister to us. This regular Friday meeting became the most nourishing time for me during the week. Afterwards I responded to an invitation to attend the annual fall conference. The speaker ministered on ``the economy of God,'' which not only left a deep impression on me, but also set the course for my future going on in my Christian life (Ephesians 1:9-10,3:9). In 1990 I moved away from the campus back to Dallas. I gradually began to meet with the local church consistently. Through the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, I truly experienced the sweetness and the reality of the Lord. I realized I have a real union with Christ in life which also brings me into the experience that I am a member of the Body of Christ, and the church is His Body (Ephesians 1:22-23). In such a realization, I am in God's house enjoying all His rich supply. During 1996, God prepared for me a believing spouse. I moved from Dallas to join him in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With the believers in the local church there we pursued together, grew together, and were built together (2 Timothy 2:22, Colossians 2:19, Ephesians 4:16). Through these many years I truly can testify that the church is truly my home. May God have mercy on me that I may stay in God's home, the church, for my entire life. P.H. | Back to List |
